Taking my son to the doctor

Took my son Johnny to the ENT doctor he needed to have his ears cleaned and checked. On our way he says “Mom are you sure this guy is an expert?” I said “Yes he specializes in just kids ears” John says “Well what if it is his first day” I say ” No he has been doing this for a long time, you have nothing to worry about”

 

A few minutes later John says “Well what if he called in sick and I get someone else and it is his first day” I say “That isn’t going to happen if he was sick they would have canceled ” John says “Good I just don’t want to get there and have it be some just guy with a drill”

 

Amazing what he is thinking!!!

 

I wonder where he gets his anxiety from? LOL 🙂

Over the years my kids have said some of the funniest things I always wished that I had written them down. So I am going to start ! Please feel free to comment and share funny stories of your own.

As Mom’s we can never laugh too much! I know there are times when all I can do is laugh or cry, so lets laugh!!

Today I have prepared a picture tutorial for Priscilla Hewitt’s Sunburst Granny Square .The written pattern can be found here:

Chain 5. Join with a sl st to form a ring.

Chain 3.

The chain 3 will count as the first dc , work 15 more dc in the ring;

join with a sl st.(16dc). Fasten off.

Attach next colour with a sl st to any dc,

puff st in the same st and in each dc around. Here is how to do the puff st:

Yarn over,insert hook in the st and pull up a long loop

yarn over

pull up another long loop from the same stitch

yarn over again(3 times in total)

yarn over and pull through all remaining 7 loops on hook,chain 1 to lock.

puff st in each dc around,join with a sl st to the first puff st.

I am still searching the ‘ perfect pattern’ for my new project. Yesterday I tried two patterns:

This pattern is from http://www.garnstudio.com. They have lovely – gorgeous-wonderful-fantastic! patterns; both knit and crochet.

I did a change in the last row in this pattern though. Now instead of one  project idea , I have two perfect project ideas!!!!

This pattern is from ‘rosehip’. Such a wonderful pattern; I got carried away and already made six of them!

And as I have mentioned red carnations in my last post,I have received some for the ‘International women’s day’ yesterday.

Tissue Paper ‘Stained Glass’ Hearts

So easy, my 3-year-old could help!

You will need:

• Scissors
• Clear, repositionable Con-Tact paper (I got mine years ago at Bed, Bath and Beyond.)
• Tissue paper in shades of red, pink, and purple torn into small pieces
• Blue painters tape
• Hole punch
• Yarn, ribbon, etc.

I had some lovely green cotton yarn left over from my bags project and wanted to use the rest up. So I crocheted this little round box and a few tatted bookmarks.

The top and bottom of the box are doubles. 4 circles are used and then a small border or side/middle. It’s like having a thicker base by using 2 rounds sewn together. And the double one’s for the top of the box are great for keeping whatever treasures are inside, safe from falling out. 🙂  I sew half of each round on the top with a whip stitch. Then I tuck one full circle on the inside and the other for the cover.  I am using the little bit of yarn left over to make a tassel and I’ll add that to the box later.
